So, will Young Sheldon make its final curtain call after only two seasons, or will it be back for a third season next year? Here is what we know so far.
Will ‘Young Sheldon’ be renewed for a third season?
For those of you who can’t get enough of seeing where Sheldon Cooper came from and learning more about his crazy and hilarious family, you are in luck. CBS has announced that Young Sheldon will not only be picked up for a third season, but the broadcasting giants have decided to also go ahead and renew the hit show for a fourth season as well.
Kelly Kahl, the President of CBS said in a statement recently: “Thank’s to Chuck Lorre and Steve Molaro’s outstanding creative leadership, Young Sheldon has been a powerful performer for the network with an audience that towers over most of the television landscapes.”
The third season is expected to come out around September of this year. Which means that if you have missed any episodes of season one or season two, you have plenty of time to head over to CBS All Accessand catch up on all of the “Eureka!” and “Bazinga” moments.
Will season 3 of ‘Young Sheldon’ air at the same time?
During the first and second season of Young Sheldon, the show came on directly after The Big Bang Theory. However, next season, The Big Bang Theory will no longer be on the air, so Young Sheldon will now get a new time slot. According to TV Line, the entire Cooper family will still be on CBS on Thursday nights, only now, they will be moved up to the 8/7c time slot.
CBS will also be introducing three all-new shows to their Thursday night lineup next season, which includes and Evil.
Will the same cast be returning for the next season of ‘Young Sheldon’?
While nothing specific has been announced about the cast list for the 2019-2020 season, we can assume that the show will keep Jim Parsons – who plays Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory – on as the narrator. Other main characters, like Ian Armitage (young Sheldon Cooper), Lance Barber (George Sr.), Zoe Perry (Marry Cooper), Annie Potts (Meemaw), Montana Jordan (Georgie), and Reagan Revord (Missy) will be returning for the next season.
It also appears that there is plenty more to be told about both Meemaw and Georgie’s romantic relationships. So, we can probably expect to see John Sturgis’ (Wallace Shawn) continue to sweep Meemaw off her feet and Georgie trying to convince Veronica (Isabel May) to go out with him.
No matter what is in store next season for the Cooper family, we are just grateful that CBS has decided to share this delightful and hilarious family with us for at least two more years. If the next two seasons of this show are even half as entertaining as the first two have been, we wouldn’t be surprised if this show is around for many more years to come.
